Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) The Associate Director, Employee Relations will be responsible in managing the day to day administration of Employee Relations compliance programs, quality programs and operational delivery.
Primary oversight and adherence on employment related work that includes Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance, annual background check program, random/post-accident drug screening programs, partnering with acquired entities on integration with compliance/operations programs, manage employment related LearnSource courses, telecommuter agreement/attestation process, compliance related rideshare programs and other programs.
The role will also include auxiliary responsibilities in partnering with other Human Capital functions and other UnitedHealth Group areas to support the employment related processes. This position reports directly to the Director of Employee Relations Compliance, Quality and Operations and is a part of a team of highly skilled professionals that supports multiple projects and business needs.
The Associate Director will provide leadership and oversight to ensure compliance with a variety of complex laws and regulations as a government contract employer. Main Responsibilities Manage day to day compliance, quality and operational programs that have enterprise-wide impact.
Uses broad judgment in decision making and raises concerns appropriately.
Monitor team compliance through reporting and tracking mechanisms to ensure programs are meeting goals and are successful. Effective vendor management oversight in the day-to-day activities that include the request for proposal (RFP) process and contractual agreements with background and drug screening, rideshare and employment compliance training course vendors. Document standard operating procedures with detailed information on decision making and policy implications.
Monitor adherence to processes and policies. Project plan, manage and implement new or changes to existing programs that are business-intimate through their alignment with the goals of the organization. Consultation with Employee Relations leadership, Employment Legal and other Human Capital areas regarding new and existing programs or initiatives. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation - Create opportunities to measure progress in mitigating risk to the organization. Ensure Human Capital policies, practices, processes and systems are in alignment with UnitedHealth Groups' core mission and values. Mentor and coach department employees to enhance their knowledge and skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience 7 or more years of Human Capital experience 3 or more years of leadership experience in coaching, educating and mentoring employees 3 or more years of experience in the execution of HR programs Preferred Qualifications Experience working with I-9/E-Verify and employee background/drug screening areas Experience working on employment compliance programs 7 or more years of Human Capital experience in related area in a large, multi-state organization Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws. Previous work with government contractor provisions Demonstrated decision-making ability and sound judgment Strong analytical and demonstrated program/project management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills (e.g., pivot tables, macros, formulas, etc.) Professional Human Resource certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) Careers at UnitedHealth Group.
